Usually The Men Tell All specials are more like ABC’s Two-Hour Waste of Time, and last night’s episode was no different. The first half hour featured Emily’s useless comments about the men, bloopers from the show, and an elaborate promo for the Bachelor spin-off, Bachelor Pad (which I will probably watch, despite its high cheese factor). Then host Chris Harrison finally got around to interviewing the rejected bachelors. Chris tried to defend his maturity level, and blamed his volatile temper on the fact that he had fallen hard for Emily. Next in the hot seat was Kalon, who made no apologies for calling Ricky “baggage”, and further cemented his status in the Sleaze-ball Hall of Fame.
Then Ryan, who looked like he had spent one too many hours in front of the spray-tanner, tried to justify his arrogance, and made no secret that he hopes to become the next Bachelor (not likely to happen anytime soon). Finally Sean, who was sent home last week, spoke about falling in love with Emily and experiencing his very first broken heart. When Emily ultimately took the stage, she still didn’t give any answers about why her relationship with the seemingly-perfect Sean failed. Instead she traded barbs with Kalon and tried to look comfortable in an undoubtedly awkward situation.
The season finale of The Bachelorette airs on a special night: Sunday, July 22nd.
