Emily and Chris on ‘The Bachelorette’

Last night on The Bachelorette, Emily visited the hometowns of her four remaining suitors. She started off in Chicago, where Chris took her to a pub, introduced her to his Polish family, and confessed that he was in love with her. Emily then flew off to Jef’s hometown in Utah. Jef took her to shoot guns, read her a love note, and confessed that he was in love with her. Next was Scottsdale, Arizona, where Emily met Arie’s family, including his father, Indianapolis 500 champ Arie Luyendyk. Arie took her for a ride in his race car and confessed that he was in love with her (noticing a theme here?). Finally, Sean welcomed Emily to his hometown of Dallas, where his family got a kick out of pranking her. Of note, Sean was the only bachelor who didn’t confess his undying love for her.
At the rose ceremony, Emily got weepy as she realized she had to let one of these guys go. In the end, it was Chris, with the explanation that her relationships with the other men were growing faster and deeper. Next week, Emily and the guys head to the Caribbean island of Curacao.

Mark Wahlberg and (the voice of) Seth MacFarlane in ‘Ted’

If you’re a fan of TV’s Family Guy, you will find it hard not to like Seth MacFarlane’s new movie Ted. As a kid, John’s (Mark Wahlberg) stuffed toy bear magically comes to life, and the two become best buddies. But Ted (voiced by MacFarlane) isn’t an innocent, Teddy Ruxpin-like creature. He becomes a beer-guzzling, pot-smoking ladies man, whose lifestyle begins to infringe upon John’s relationship with Lori (Mila Kunis). John is faced with an ultimatum: Lori or the bear. Funny and original, the film is filled with raunchy humor, but has its sweet and touching moments as well.
